Joseph Musical 2023

Why Joseph

In 2008, a group of business leaders and pastors in the Albany community met together for prayer and conversation about ministry in Albany. What came from that was a vision to exalt the name of Jesus Christ in Albany through unity of the churches. ServeINC member churches committed to honor our Lord in this community to meet in unity for prayer and worship, and to provide service to Albany in the name of Jesus.

In 2010, Serve, the precursor to ServeINC, conducted the Willamette Celebration at Timber Linn Park. This festival featured Christian music groups, food and clothing giveaways, haircuts, and an assortment of sports demonstrators such as BMX bikes. It was the most-attended event of its type in Albany history.

From that effort, ServeINC was born. ServeINC continues to carry on the same vision through the ministry of prayer, worship and service. Each year since that time, ServeINC member churches have painted schools in Albany and Jefferson with the support of up to 20 churches in the area. The pastors continue to meet together for mutual encouragement and collaboration, and a contingent of folks continue to meet at the LoveINC building on Cleveland Street to pray.

The Joseph Project is a continuation of that vision. Our goal is to band together as the churches of Albany to provide two weekends of quality entertainment as a gift to the community. It is our hope that Christians will use this as an opportunity to invite their unchurched friends. Community members will have the opportunity to see friends and neighbors from Albany churches participating in the production of this event. There will be a brief Africa Ministry message during the intermission and an invitation for folks to visit their local churches.

This event will be provided at no cost to attendees. Details on securing reserved seats will be forthcoming. Please pray God’s blessing on this event which is, admittedly, experimental. We hope that this will become a tradition that folks will look forward to and will continue to augment the ministry of the churches to our community.
